WebJan 29, 2024 · Maybe the J/109 isn't the best reference as that boat is particularly good in light air. Comparing the 88 to our J/120 there is only a 4 sec/mile delta between the average and light air ratings. Still doesn't favor the 88 in light air. What does a new J/88 run these days. Most areas just hit the boat 6 sec/mi for a genoa up to 150/155%. I'm building a fleet here so eventually i hope to care a lot less what they rate us !!! "WebJun 19, 2015 · The only PHRF rating that I could find for a H-28 is in New England and it is 264, in the slower than slow category for a 28 footer. A wooden H-28 built to the original design wasn't all that slow and probably could sail to that rating pretty easily, but the glass ones typically were slower across the board.
